Which is better majestic or SEO MOZ?
This is taken from a recent Quora thread,
Question: Which is better, Majestic or SEO MOZ?
2 completely different tools that offer different metrics because they focus on different things.
Moz focuses on DA and PA, and generally only shows a small portion of links, but they are the better links, which also kind of makes it a hard tool to trust when ahrefs has a much stronger crawler to find backlinks. DA can be easily manipulated with spammy links as well.
Majestic focuses on the link quality and views it as trust, which is based on the links pointing to the links that point to the domain being looked at. Majestic also focuses on how topical the links are which makes it great for understanding how a website is being themed by the links pointing to it.
One thing they everyone needs to understand is that these tools just provide metrics, and it’s important not to get too caught up in them. Numbers can always be manipulated, so it’s extremely important to do your research.
I say this because of the current blogger outreach that is going on. On numerous occasions, I have been contacted by people offer outreach to get my website or client website featured on “high DA” news sites and other niche related sites.
After taking the person’s site list and checking out the quality of the websites being offered, I found most of these sites were penalised sites, meaning if I were to have gained a link from them it would have had serious implications for my site(de-ranking), other sites were expired domains, extremely link spammed sites and some that look just dubious. One thing that was clear, after doing my research into these sites, they all had high DA as a metric, but that was just because they were manipulated to have that.
Tip: tools are great, but they are just metrics. Do your due diligence.
